The Ready2Scale Acceleration Program welcomed 15 dynamic digital and deep-tech startups into its first batch, fueling their progress with a focused 6-month program and a €60,000 grant. Let’s get to know the startups participating in the program. Today, we dive into the story of FroomCare, a health tech innovator transforming rehabilitation processes.
FroomCare PRO is a digital platform designed for rehabilitation professionals, offering personalized therapeutic exercise plans for patients. It uses an algorithm based on ICD codes to recommend exercises that physiotherapists can adjust, making physiotherapy more accessible and tailored. The founder, Grega Nahtigal, has 15 years of experience as a physiotherapist and sports coach mentor, with a focus on integrating digital healthcare solutions into the rehabilitation process.
How did you come up with the idea to create a startup?
The idea for FroomCare came from my experience as a physiotherapist, noticing the inefficiencies in prescribing exercises manually and the lack of accessible digital solutions for patients to continue their rehabilitation at home. This motivated me to create a platform that bridges the gap between physiotherapists and patients.
What have been the biggest challenges/failures and the biggest wins so far?
One of the biggest challenges has been navigating the digital transformation of healthcare, particularly ensuring seamless integration into clinics and hospitals. However, our biggest win has been securing 40% of the public sector in Slovenia and gaining traction in both private sectors and educational institutions within the first year of launch.
What sets your startup apart from competitors?
FroomCare PRO is web-based, eliminating the need for apps or wearables. It leverages machine learning to continuously improve exercise recommendations based on physiotherapists’ revisions, making it both highly efficient and user-friendly. Additionally, our platform integrates ICD codes, streamlining the rehabilitation process for professionals.
Why would you recommend the Ready2Scale Acceleration Program to other startups?
The Ready2Scale Acceleration Program provides excellent mentorship, access to industry leaders, and valuable networking opportunities. It’s an ideal environment for startups to refine their strategies and accelerate growth, especially for those aiming to make an impact in health tech.
Where do you see your startup in 1 year? And where in 5 years?
In 1 year, we aim to expand FroomCare PRO to additional European markets, including Austria and Germany, and grow our customer base in the private sector. In 5 years, we envision becoming the leading digital rehabilitation tool used by professionals across Europe, with a presence in over 200 clinics and partnerships with major healthcare institutions.
Which books/podcasts/publications and influencers in your field do you follow and recommend to other aspiring entrepreneurs?
I recommend The Lean Startup by Eric Ries for understanding startup dynamics and How I Built This by Guy Raz for insights into entrepreneurial journeys. For health tech, I follow the Digital Health Today podcast and publications like HealthTech Magazine.
If you got the chance to meet Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg, and Jeff Bezos, what would you ask them?
I’d ask them how they balance innovation with scalability in industries as complex as healthcare and what advice they’d give for bringing disruptive digital solutions into traditionally conservative markets like healthcare.
